Antique Dancing Square Quilt

This antique Dancing Square Quilt (my own name - as I don't know the name of this block!) is made out of the softest cottons in cadet blue, red, black and beige. This is the kind of quilt you want to snuggle up in - or at the foot of your bed. Completely hand-sewn and quilted. The red binding is fraying in ares and thin in others but this could be repaired with a new binding hand-sewn on. A great example of early American quilting.

Provenance: This quilt has come to us through a private collection - there are at least another 100 wonderful old quilts to come! Merci Judy!
