Antique Hemp Household Cloths

Beautiful, early French hemp cloths - washed and pressed. These cloths are the good stuff - used in the kitchen for wrapping food or drying hands and dishes. This early, rough natural colored hemp is getting harder to find - especially in such good condition. Some towels have small monograms.

To soften the towels, soak in a bucket of water overnight and then wash in the machine. To really soften, put into the dryer for 15 minutes, or add fabric softener to wash.
