Story in Stitch: A Cloth Book Workshop with Mandy Pattullo / Saturday, February 14th, 2026 / 9-12pm PT / Zoom Workshop

Join us online for another wonderful stitching project with Mandy Pattullo.  Mandy will be teaching from her beautiful studio in Nothumberland, UK and coming to you via Zoom.

Textile Artist Mandy Pattullo loves to tell a story through her textile collages. Sometimes this is about the cloth itself but more often it is about a memory of a time and place. In this workshop you will create short scenarios within the folds of a concertina cloth book. Mandy has chosen to focus her hand stitched double spreads  on  a special place, her garden, her memory of the red barns in Vermont , and lastly a place to retreat to -  a bedroom with  a tiny quilt to snuggle under. You can follow Mandy’s journey but she will suggest ways that you can personalise and change  her layouts so that you bring something of yourself to the story. You will be using  the lovely new French General Fleur de Paris collection of fabrics. This is a project which you can continue to invest time and stitches in long after the workshop is over and will hopefully inspire you to attempt more narrative based work.

Everything you need to create this Story in Stitch Cloth Concertina Book will be provided - including antique linen for the book, Fleur de Paris scraps, sewing thread, floss skeins, snips and transfer paper. Kits also come with Mandy's step by step instructions, templates and stitch guide.

This project is perfect for beginners who are interested in learning Mandy's stitching techniques - as well as experienced stitchers who want to increase their knowledge of decorative stitching.

Kits will be sent out in January and the Zoom workshop link will be sent to you a few days before the workshop.
