These large, white linen damask napkins were considered pigeon napkins as they were large enough to put over one's head while eating small birds - like pigeons!
Beautiful, old, creamy linen household towels used throughout the 18th and 19th centuries in France. Soft and delicate, these towels will last forever with the proper care. Some towels may need washing as these are right out of an old armoire from a very large house in Southwest France.
To clean hemp, linen or nettle wash by hand or on gentle cycle in your washing machine with soap and warm water. Once removed from washing machine, snap out any wrinkles. Hang to dry and then press with a hot iron.
