France Getaway 2025

We welcome you to join us for our 16th year of the French General France Getaway!  Surrounded by beautiful fields of sunflowers, local farmer's markets and traditional artisans, you will be inspired and connect deeply to the countryside of France.

Our week long retreat is held in a 19th century manor house, in the heart of rural France, located one hour north of Toulouse.  The house has been restored with a balance of rustic charm and modern elegance.

Each week, the France Getaway features a guest artist to guide us in learning new craft. Our converted studio barn is set up for all sorts of creative workshops, with everything geared toward curiosity and experimentation.

Our home for the week is surrounded by 10 acres of garden and countryside - just an hour and a half north of Toulouse- the perfect place to relax in one of the many elegant rooms, or sit by the pool and enjoy a glass of local wine.

Chef Charlotte Clement keeps us well fed as well as teaches us her fabulous French cooking techniques. All meals are cooked with fresh, local ingredients. We are able to accommodate most dietary restrictions.

Each week our featured artist offers workshops in the studio - all materials and supplies are provided for all workshops. These workshops are geared towards the beginner stitcher as well as accomplished crafters. You are welcome to join in all of the activities or take time out at the manor to find your inner French woman.

We travel to nearby villages and towns to visit the local farmer's markets and brocantes. Some of our favorite villages include: Albi, Cordes sur-Ciel, St, Antonin Noble Val, Caussade, Cahors and Najac. We also keep an eye out for Vide Maisons - private house sales where we dig for treasures.

Air travel is in and out of the Toulouse Airport, where we pick up on the arrival day at 3pm and drop off on the departure day at 9am.

A full guide book with more information and our weekly itinerary will be sent out to you upon your registration.

Our retreats attract physically and mentally fit women who are open-minded, progressive, generous and kind - if this describes you, we would love to have you join us in France!

Please feel free to write to mogull@frenchgeneral.com if you are interested in joining us.
