Antique French Chemise #15

A very old linen men's nightshirt from the late 20th century

This nightshirt is a size medium-large

20" shoulders with medium sleeves

Pleats with glass button (missing one)

Cotton collar

Embroidered red monogram: JR

Small repair on chest

I found all of these shirts in France - they are all from one house and probably used as undershirts by the staff.  Many have small mends, or repairs and would be perfect for slow mending.  Mostly they are in good condition, unless otherwise noted. They have been washed and are a beautiful example of 19th century French cloth.

I wear my chemise in the summer months in France - and there is nothing better than feeling old cotton, linen or hemp on your skin!
