Mending Sampler Needle Book with Jody Alexander / Saturday, February 29th / 10-4pm
Spend the day with Jody Alexander from Wishi Washi Studio learning the fine art of mending, while making a needle book to hold your sewing notions.
Learn Japanese and French mending techniques and them turn your sampler into a needle book! In the first portion of this workshop we will look at examples of Japanese and French textile mends and then students will learn a variety of them while stitching on a French Linen sampler. After the techniques are practiced the sampler will be used to create a functional needle book. This workshop is great for students wanting to learn useful mending techniques while making something useful that can be used or given as a gift. Suitable for beginners and experienced stitchers alike.
Materials are provided for this workshop, but students may want to bring along their favorite sewing items including scissors, needles and thread - as well as any special fabric they might want to include in their mending book.
Lunch will be served.
