THE BLUE THREAD
A SHIBORI & INDIGO WORKSHOP in NEW YORK CITY
Taught by Kaari Meng
Please join us for a day of stitching and dyeing at the Southstreet Seaport Museum. Come prepared to learn how to create pattern on natural fibers. Students will build indigo vats and then dip dye their fabrics. All materials are supplied, but you are free to bring a small bag of treasures you would like to dye blue.
A special visit to Bowne & Co., next door, will enable students to see blue pigment being used for letter pressing.
Please wear blue, bring a brown bag lunch and prepare for magic!
